Well, it's been a while since I got round to uploading any photos. I'm still taking a photo every day, and uploading to Flickr, but I just don't seem to have to time to keep up with this blog too. I'll try to get back up to date, but can't promise I'll put up all the photos for June on here:).

Just got back from my holidays, so give me some time and I'll get the photos up for that.

I love that we've now come to the time of year that there are plenty flowers in the garden - even if some of those are dandelions!

May 8th: Now that we've planted this pansy in the flowerbed the slugs are leaving it alone. I love how cheery pansies are, especially in Amy's favourite colour.

May 7th: I love how full the flowerbeds get with bluebells, some blue, a few white.

May 6th: We're lucky to have a lovely deli in our village. We went there to buy lunch as it does a nice baguette.

May 5th: Just a fun shot. My camera happened to be sitting there, I like the look of the smarties tube and Amy's dolls house behind it.

May 4th: It's great how kids can fall asleep in any position.

May 3rd: It seems windmills are popping up on every hill just now. I quite like them, and liked this view while Peter was driving home. It looks like the windmill field has just been planted!

Final batch!! Now nearly up to date, but I did leave my camera outside yesterday in the rain, so don't want to switch it on to upload the photos until I know it's completely dry!

May 2nd - Now it's sunny we bought Amy a new sunhat. She loves it, and at £1 it was a bargain!

May 1st - Amy was fascinated by the police horses in Glasgow, though we see them quite often as they're stabled just outside our village.

April 30th - Ick, I've got the lurgy, nothing to do but snuggle into the sofa with a cup of tea and a box of hankies.

April 29th - I love watching the peonies. Here this bud is re

April 28th - Our Anniversary, we went to Kelvingrove and saw the Dr Who Exhibition. It was great, though Amy found it too loud.

Seemed a bit unfair to put all the photos in one post! Here's the next batch.

April 26th - A bit of a filler photo, one of Peter's shelves of Transformers. He has many more.

April 25th - Went for a walk round the woods again, love having them on our doorstep!

April 24th - We bought a small pansy, and hadn't got round to planting it in the ground yet. I was shocked when I went out this evening to find a huge number of slugs around it!

April 23rd - WiiFit, Peter bought this on Monday, I've been doing it for a

few days and it's so much fun! I know I'm overweight, but I do apparently have good balance and flexibility. My WiiFit age was 30 which I'm pleased with!

April 22nd - I pass this house on the way to tutor. It seems a shame it's boarded up, wonder what its history is.

So, April turned out a bit of a hard month to upload photos, what with my lack of computer, then just being so busy! Here's a few photos to get up to date a bit. Hopefully I'll add the rest at some point.

April 21st - Amy had a ball helping me to wash the garden chairs with a sponge, a brush and lots of bubbles!

April 20th - Yay, weather was nice enough to put out the washing, can you tell I have a little girl in the household?

April 19th - Weather was lovely, so Peter and I went to Dean Castle for a stroll.

April 18th - Amy stayed with my parents, so we were able to repaint the living room, remove all the scuffs.

April 17th - Our noticeboard needs a clear out!

April 16th - Yay, my new Mac is here!

Being paid in eggs

Well, I'm hoping to do a bumper post soon with about 2 weeks worth of photos. My laptop is broken (apart from when it decides to work again), so though I've taken the photos, I've not been having a chance to upload them.

I'll put up today's though, then work through the backlog when my new laptop arrives:D.

I do Physics tutoring, and one of the perks of working in the country is the little extras you sometimes get. Tonight along with my pay I was given a dozen hen eggs as well as a goose egg. I've never actually tried a goose egg, but looking forward to using it to do some baking.

April 4th:

It's been lovely weather the last couple of days, so I (along with the rest of the country) optimistically thought we'd get a good run of sunshine. No, it was not to be, the rain's back. Ah well. This is the view from my bedroom window.

April 3rd:

I have this wall decoration in my kitchen. I made it a couple of years ago using a class by BubblyFunk as part of the Birthday cybercrop on UKScrappers. It makes me smile each time I look at it.

April 2nd:

We went to Edinburgh for the afternoon. The day did not start well, with Peter first taking the wrong car to the station (we needed the car seat to be at the station at the end of the day), then realising that he now also had the buggy. Then Amy and I missed the train up to Glasgow. Luckily one of her friends stays just across from the station so we could pop in for 40 minutes and wait for the next one.

It was all worth it in the end, Edinburgh's a great place. I love the Scott Monument, hence this photo of it. Amy also worked her charm to get some little Lindt bunnies from the lovely ladies in Jenners.

April 1st: After last month's photo of the buds on my flowering currant, here's the follow-up. All the teeny flowers are opening up.

Kiwi

I'm trying to keep the fruitbowl stocked up, especially with a variety of fruit. I love kiwi fruit, though Amy isn't convinced yet.

Amy was at a friend's birthday party today. This is the first time she's been brave enough to get her face painted. It's meant to be a princess, though I think it's more She-ra than Cinderella.

Nightlight

Amy's nightlight is great. It's got a torch included, and has the In the Night Garden characters round the edge. Every evening after she's gone to bed I look at this arrangement, and can't help thinking of a Lord of the rings style gathering round the campfire. Attending the meeting are Yoda, Makka Pakka and Iggle Piggle, with Dora having a sneaky sleep.

March 27th: Another day, another flower decides it's Spring! Today it's heather, though it wasn't scared of winter anyway!

March 26th: Amy was at Arty's today, an art/play session for toddlers. This week's crafty activity was a Humpty Dumpty. I can't get over how Amy now draws eyes and a mouth when she draws a face. The picture on the right is apparently a painting of Amy. I think I can see what she means. Her favourite colour is definitely yellow!

Baking with granny

Amy and her granny had great fun this afternoon making gingerbread eggs. She loved stirring the mixture, rolling out the dough and choosing how they should be decorated. They tasted pretty good too!

Hiya, yes I've been hiding. I'm really enjoying this project, but I was starting to find the uploading of photos a chore. So I decided to take a break for a week, I still took the photos, so I'll start to get up to date now. I also realised that I find it easier to take photos of things rather than people, but I want lots of photos of Amy in my 365 too, so this week the photos are of her.

March 16th:
Amy was having fun lying on the sofa. I'd lie on the floor and she'd roll off the sofa to land on top of me. Then she'd climb back up and start again.

March 17th:
Just another of Amy's cute expressions lol.

March 18th:

Amy loves these sunglasses, think she's looking forward to summer when she can wear them all the time, though then she'll not have as much chance to use her umbrella, another of her faves at the moment.

March 19th:

We've loved the sunshine the past few days, though it hasn't exactly been warm, especially when the wind is blowing. Amy's favourite garden toys at the moment are her bucket and spade, sticks to wave around, and the watering can.

March 20th:
We went to a park with granny today, it's been recently done up. Amy loved the slide as usual. This was the first time I've seen her climb up the actual slide and make it to the top, though of course I told her off for it as it was a pretty high slide!

I've been to the hairdressers today, so this is one of those days where I'm willing to step in front of the camera!

I was chatting with a couple of friends the other day, and we were thinking about what we'd have if money was no object. We figured a stylist would be good to style out hair every day. Then Wendy said she'd love new socks every day which would also be good. My personal choice would be fresh bed linen, there's nothing better.

Today: Being on the committee of the mother and toddler group means taking my turn to bring home all the plastic beakers to wash. I do love the bright colours bobbing in the sink.

March 12th: I got this jigsaw when I was 6 from a craft village while on holiday. We've been going through the boxes in the loft, and I decided to bring it down for Amy to play with. As for that corner piece, I'm sure I came across it a few years ago and put it in 'a safe place'!

March 11th: This is the main building at the Uni, Amy and I were meeting friends in town, so we got a lift in with Peter in the morning, and walked down from the West End to the city centre.

I love all the buildings (except the awful 60s concrete ones), they look so gothic.

St Andrews, big girls bed and more

Today: Finally the crocuses have opened. It was a lovely day so we could play out in the garden, Amy took photos with her pretend camera, I took ones with my real camera.

March 9th: OK, so I was lacking in inspiration, but hey, they're cute. They're standing on our mantelpiece at the moment.

March 8th: We've now taken the side off Amy's cot, she's doing really well. Hoping to buy her a big girl bed soon.

March 7th: Today's assignment in the digiscrapping course I'm doing was to take a photo of something that meant a lot to us. I chose this sheep, I got it at a jumble sale when I was about 8.

March 6th: We spent the day in St Andrews, it's got so many gorgeous buildings. I took loads of photos, but love this one. Isn't this the coolest bit to drive through!

March 5th: Everyone seems to have a photo of the moon one day in their 365, so here's mine lol.

Keys, nursery, buds, bath toys and Kaz

I know, I haven't been on here for a few days. I'm keeping up with taking the photos, just don't always have time to upload them, especially at the weekends. Anyway, here's today's photo. I like our keyhook, but it sits in an alcove in our hall which is quite dark. So, I changed the photo to sepia, then recoloured the keyrings. I quite like the effect.

March 2nd: Today was a big day. We've registered Amy for nursery. I can't believe she's 2 1/2 already. We visited a couple of the local nurseries last week, and one really stood out. Now we just have to wait till May to find out if she gets a place there.

March 1st: While playing out in the garden with Amy I noticed that the flowering currant has lots of buds. It's one of the earliest flowers in the garden.

Feb 28th: Amy loves having a bath, but HATES having her hair washed. I do like the bright colours of the bath toys, the large duck in the middle was bought for Peter's dad by his mum while they were dating.

Feb 27th: Went into town today to meet up with Kaz. Amy adores her, we had a great day, and I got a gorgeous new dress. We even stayed out for dinner, when Kaz's friend Gillian joined us.

Matchbox

One of the swaps I'm in on UKS is 'If it fits in a matchbox-the big one'. The idea is to fill a Swan Vesta matchbox with stash, decorate it, and send it to another member of the swap. I spent this evening decorating the box, ready to post tomorrow.

Blue Sky

The weather today was lovely (most of the time). I liked the white fluffy clouds, so that's my photo of the day.

It's kind of an optimistic photo too, I know a few people for whom things aren't going so well, so I hope things get better soon for them.

Here's yesterday's photo. My mum's just got a new car, and I remembered to take one photo while I had a sit inside. Somehow I then forgot to take any photos from outside. Ah well.

Amy's boots

I love these boots of Amy's. She doesn't wear them as often as her welly boots, which I will also take a photo of at some time.

We played out in the garden for a while today. Amy was most impressed to see crocuses now growing where she had plunked mud and water last week to 'help the flowers'. I know it's coincidence, but these are the lucky tricks that keep kids happy:D.

Ravenscraig castle

This ruined castle sits on the edge of our village. Unfortunately it's hard to get close to it as I'd love to explore it. Apparently it's been a ruin for centuries, but before that it belonged to a Godfrey de Ross in the 12th century.

The weather was lovely today so after a relaxed morning we went out for a long walk.

One thing I've noticed since starting this project is how much Amy now enjoys playing with my camera. She asked to take a few shots this afternoon, including this one of me. She's pretty steady, as long as she remembers not to pull the camera down to look at the shot before it's actually taken!

Yesterday we were able to do the shopping in the evening as we used to, it's changed recently as Amy doesn't normally have a nap so is asleep by 7. As we left the supermarket, she noticed this ride-in bus and climbed on. She loves these, and will probably love them even more when she works out that we could put in money to make them go, lol.

Buttons!

Thursday: Amy loves playing with my tub of buttons. At least she's stopped throwing them around the room like she did a couple of months ago. We were finding them for weeks! She loved transferring them from one tub to another, and into an empty glass jar.

To be honest, the photo didn't quite turn out as nicely as I wanted, but it shows what we were doing for the morning, so never mind.

I remember I loved playing with my mum's and especially my grandma's button collection when I was little, so love that Amy likes it now.

Inchies etc

I'm loving the interesting swaps on UKS at the moment. One is an inchies swap, so today's photo is of one of them. I stamped the cake image, then added Stickles and Liquid Pearls.

Tuesday: Yesterday I was playing out in the garden with Amy, and noticed there were crocus leaves popping out of the ground. I'm glad Spring is finally coming.

Monday: Amy loves My Little Ponies. My sister-in-law came over with an old one the other day, it was fun to see how much they had changed. This is my photo for the 16th.

Sunday: At the moment Amy is obsessed with laying all her books out in a row to make a train for all her animals. Only thing is, she gets upset that the train doesn't actually go anywhere!

Saturday: On Saturday we went out to Ayr. I spotted this interesting building, which seems to have too many angles for the size of it.

Training

We've been toilet-training Amy for the last few weeks, and she's been brilliant. Had a bit of a hiccup today, but generally I'm so proud of her.

I do love having flowers in the house, usually just a bunch from Somerfield while I'm doing the shopping. Now that Amy's favourite colour is yellow, she's quite insistent that the flowers should be this colour. I did a compromise this time, there are yellow, pink and white flowers in the bunch.

Beanscene

After cat-feeding duties yesterday we went to Beanscene for lunch, it's a great coffee shop. I was taking some photos for the February Scavenger Hunt over on Designer Digitals. Then Amy wanted to join in. We must have taken 50 photos - of our lunch, the table, our coins, each other! Here Amy was pulling a funny face and I love her expression - so cheeky!

Tenement close

We were on cat-sitting duties for my SIL today. She stays in Glasgow in a tenement flat. I love these, they've got so many lovely details. I liked the fact that some of the paint is peeling so we can see what colours the walls were before. I love that kind of sense of history.

Phew, it's been the cybercrop on UKScrappers, so I've been a bit distracted with scrapping. Took a photo each day, just never got around to uploading them, so here goes!

Today

It's snowing again. We went for a walk along the river this afternoon. Loved how crisp and white everything was as the snow was so fresh. I like the river flowing through the middle of this, and all the snow on the branches.

Saturday

Amy and I went for a walk at lunchtime. She keeps saying she wants to go to a puppet show, and I've no idea where she's got this from. Anyway, we walked round the town while she looked for the show, and got upset when she eventually decided it was in the Institute Hall which was locked.

The day was lovely and bright, and I liked how bright this post box looks in the wall. I've always meant to take a photo of it.

Friday

Cybercrop started today. I hadn't realised how spread out all my stash was till I left the room to get a cuppa and came back in. I did have a late night, but got loads of scrapping done.

Thursday

These are my purple Docs. I only really wear them in the snow as I've never broken them in, but I love the colour.

In the (snowy) night garden

Oops, it got to 11 pm before I remembered that I hadn't taken a photo for today. It snowed again earlier today so I nipped out into the garden with my fluffy slippers on and took this photo.

I do like my garden, it's kind of the perfect size for us. It's also got everything I'd like in a garden - lawn/ flowerbeds/patio/rockery, without any one bit being too large to deal with.

Little People public pool!

Today Amy spent most of the afternoon playing with a basin of water. First she washed all her toy tea set, then all the Little People jumped in for a swim, using my metal ruler as a slide.

It does look a bit crowded, and I'm not sure I'd want a dog in the pool with me, but they look happy. I love that it's the simplest toys that can keep kids occupied.

Snow, Princes Square, Champagne and Quizzes

Phew, what a busy weekend it's been. Haven't had time to upload each day, but hopefully I'm back on track now.

It's been snowing here today, quite a bit. Amy's loved it, we spent ages outside this afternoon where she had great fun shovelling, throwing, stomping and jumping on the snow.

Toddlers was great too, as there were very few of us, so one of the mums went out for hot chocolate for us all. It was so yummy, with a block of chocolate at the bottom, all melty, mmm!

Yesterday we were in Glasgow for me to get my hair cut. Will take a photo of that eventually. Anyway, here's Amy's favourite shopping centre. It's got a huge peacock above it. Inside is a great open space where there's always kids running around while their parents grab a coffee.

On Saturday we were invited to the grand reopening of our local sweetie shop/cafe. It's been extended and looks lovely. We had a nice couple of glasses of champagne and chatted to the great and the good of our wee town (wonder how we got in!). I had been surprised when I found the invitation through my door as I wondered how the owner knew where we lived. Turned out she'd given it a girl I know, who then passed it to her husband, saying I lived in 'that bit of the street there, not sure which house is theirs'.

On Friday I was out as well (I know, hectic social life), at a quiz and chilli night at the local church. This was to raise money for a charity bike ride later in the year through Africa. The quiz was so much fun, we had a toddler group mums team. There were 30 questions in the round, covering all topics from science to music, geography to cartoons. In between there was a break for a bowl of chilli, which was delicious.

In the end we came 4th, only 4 points behind the winners, so we were happy. Me and Peter used to be in a pub quiz team, and sometimes I do miss it.

Our Viaduct

Here's the viaduct at the edge of our town. It's so high above the road.

We were at a friends' house for lunch, so walked under it to get home. Just had to take a quick shot as we were walking with another friend, and I didn't want to stop too often just to get out the camera.

Obviously there's no trains going over it just now as the track's broken further down the line. They say it'll be 3 weeks before the line's open again, though I'll be very impressed if it can be fixed so quickly.

Also spotted this cool tree as we left my friends house. No idea what kind it is, but I loved the spreading branches.

Renfrewshire Wheel

We had nothing planned for the day, so me and Amy decided to drive up to my favourite shopping centre. It's about 45 minutes drive, and handily the route takes us past my parents' so I knew we could pop in for a visit on the way back.

When we got there we spotted a Ferris wheel outside, which of course Amy immediately wanted to go on. I went across to find out the cost, and was told that if I went into the centre first there were leaflets which would get me 2 tickets for the price of 1. I really appreciated that.

When we went on the wheel, we got a carriage to ourselves. Amy held my hand but loved it, even though it went so high. The view over Glasgow and Renfrew was lovely, as it was a gorgeous day.

I was amused though when I heard part of the voiceover, telling us that we were looking out over Great Yarmouth (300 miles away!).

Amy can't wait to go back on, didn't want to come off in fact!

Excitement in our small town

This is a shot of the news on the telly as obviously I couldn't get close enough to take a photo myself. This morning a freight train carrying fuel derailed just outside our village, and a couple of the carriages caught fire. Luckily no-one was hurt.

By the time I left the house today there was just some black smoke, but there will be some disruption to the road and railway line for some time as a bridge collapsed onto the road out towards Kilmarnock.

All you could see round the town was groups of people talking about it, nothing usually happens here lol.

January mantelpiece

I love the mantelpiece in our living room. I'll be taking photos of it several times through the year as the display on it tends to change. At the moment it's been taken over by Peter's Transformers and Star Wars bits and bobs as I've not got round to putting my ornaments back up since Christmas.

Magical Trevor

While I was doing my PhD we came up with many ways to waste some time between the serious work. One of our favourites was a website which contained animated songs including 'Badgers, badgers, badgers' and 'Magical Trevor'.

I'd forgotten about the site until recently when my sister got broadband at her house so could play on the web. I showed it to her and her flatmate.

I was so surprised to get this toy for Christmas from my sister as I didn't realise there was one for it. He just looks so jolly on my DVD shelves.

We went into Glasgow shopping today. This building sits on Buchanan street, and was used as a theatre until fairly recently. I took a full photo of it, but like this one with the blue sky behind it.

Glasgow's full of interesting architecture, pretty certain I could fill a 365 project just with photos of buildings in the city.

Thirst and Tawny

Was at my crop last night, so didn't have time for a blog post when I got home. My photo for yesterday is of Tawny, our tortoiseshell. She rarely stays still long enough to let us take a photo, but here she was sitting on the arm of the sofa and I was able to click before she moved.

She's a lovely cat, if a bit demanding when she wants some attention, often pawing at your arm till you pat her.

Today we went to a local coffee shop, Thirst, for lunch with my friend and her little girl. It's a great place, with a couple of shelves of books, crayons and toys. There's an area at the back with gardening gloves/ seeds etc. Here Amy and her friend were putting all the packets of seeds (unopened) into a hanging basket, something that they do every time we visit.

Also got a cute photo of my dad and one of their cats, Kola. He's been staying with my parents, but is about to return to his owner. I think they'll miss him, though I'm not sure my parents' other cats will!

Mini muffin

We made these cakes this morning using a Fifi and the Flowertots cake mix. This explains the colour of the icing (not our choice), but we decided to add hundreds and thousands to the top. Think the icing had already set a bit as most of them just bounced off the top instead of staying on the cakes.

Amy's already realised that cake mixes are no match for the real thing. She pretty much only ate the icing on this, whereas the real fairy buns we made last week were completely devoured.

Green jelly

I usually forget to make jelly till after lunch so it hasn't set by dinner time, but today we remembered in time. Amy loved helping it to dissolve by stirring it.

I just don't like putting it in the fridge to set, as it tends to leave everything else smelling of lime/strawberry, whatever.

Teeny snowman

Today it snowed a bit, so we played outside for as long as we could stand the cold. Amy loved throwing snowballs, and squishing them in her hands. We built this tiny snowman on top of a basin that sits on the patio. Used a stone for the nose, and tiny brads for the eyes and mouth.

The hat came with an Innocent Smoothie bottle I bought a few months ago. It's something they do in association with Sainsbury's each year. People knit these hats, and money is given to age charities for each bottle sold. I remember it looked so cute, all these bottles on the shelf in the shop wearing woolly hats.

The snowman was partly inspired by Lindschick's cute tiny snowman from earlier in the month.

I'm so glad I'm doing this digitally, there's no way I'd be keeping up if I had to print out the photos before I could do anything. That's what scuppered the Scrap the Day project for me.

Had a busy day today, went swimming in the morning, I'm glad Amy suddenly loves the water (though still not in her eyes!). Then onto Granny and Papa's where Papa had been kindly replacing the glow plugs in my car (those pesky things had caused the error shown in my earlier photo).

He was also kind enough to add more RAM to my laptop, now it's got 1.5GB instead of 0.5GB, should help with running PSE.

In the evening Auntie Val came over, and Amy brought out our hat collection for us to model. Think she looks cute in a hat, though it may be a tad too big for her!

Our street

Went for a little walk this morning, but as Amy wanted to wear her big girl pants we decided not to stray too far from home. On the way back I let Peter and Amy go first, while I popped into a couple of shops.

I thought I'd take a couple of shots of the High Street as the weather was good, and it'll be good to look back on in years to come.

Now it's a Saturday night, so we've opened a nice bottle of wine, and will settle down in front of a good DVD.

Had fun today visiting my parents. My mum's had a bad cold for a couple of weeks, and we've missed seeing her. Amy got hold of a Post-it pad, drew on several pages and had fun sticking the results on the living room door.

Also, after my photo the other day about my car, well the garage had a look at it today, found an error code but couldn't find what was wrong with it. They were nice and didn't charge me anything for that. The warning has come back up now, but dad reckons it's a glow plug, so he can fix it himself, yay!

Well-needed cuppa

I've had a busy day, with people on the phone (who I loved chatting to), and a 2 year-old behaving like a, well like a 2 year-old!

I was ready for a cuppa by the time Amy decided to have a nap about 4 o'clock, and I like this mug. We got it from a website where you can get personalised mugs. It's a joke on the old Physics school textbooks called 'Physics is Fun'.

Heron and snow!

Today we went up to bother Peter at work, as Amy didn't want him to leave in the morning. As we walked through Kelvingrove Park I spotted this heron in the pond. I couldn't get too close as that would mean walking towards the play park which Amy would then want to play in, and DH was late enough.

As I took the photo, my camera warned me that the battery was flat, so I didn't get to take any more through the day. That's a pity as we met up with my friend and her dog in the afternoon.

When we got back to the station to collect the car, it had been snowing, and my camera had just enough energy saved up for me to take a quick pic.

Old life/new life

I saw this arrangement sitting on a shelf, and for some reason it appealed to me. The large black book is my PhD thesis (Development of an ultrafast nanobolometer cooled by electrons if you're interested!). On top is the Cinderella/Prince Charming from Amy's Cinderella Aquadraw and one of her dummies.

Just liked the idea of all these toddler things replacing what I used to do.

Poor car

An early post from me today as I knew exactly what I wanted to take for my photo. My poor car started giving me this warning on Thursday. I haven't driven it since, but the garage can't take it till Friday, so it'll have to sit till then.

I asked my dad what it could be, he doesn't reckon it's anything serious. He did ask if the light went off when the engine was hot, but I didn't want to drive it that far, so I've no idea.

I don't drive it much during the week anyway, but it's a trusty friend, my diesel Scenic.

Now we've been to toddlers, and up to a friends for lunch, so Amy's asleep on the sofa and I'm getting 5 minutes to do this.

Here's what's been competing with flickr/blog hopping in the evenings for my time. I'm enjoying Lego Batman at the moment, all the Lego games have been fun. I did have to sacrifice a touch of realism for this photo. I had to leave the nunchuk on the floor as I don't have three hands and can't take a photo with my teeth (yet).

After Amy wearing all my bangles earlier in the week, we took her swimming today. We got her first pair of armbands and she LOVED it. Wanted to go back in the afternoon. I did try to take a photo of the armbands, as I couldn't obviously take any of her at the public pool, but they didn't come out right, they're just too orange.

Tickle session

Here's Peter and Amy having a tickling session, wish I could add sound, I love the giggles that were accompanying this!

Later Amy spotted my camera sitting on the table, and wanted to take a photo of me, so Peter helped her by holding the camera and she pressed the button. I like it.

My 365 technology

Today's photo shows the technology I'm using to take my 365 pictures. Most important obviously is my camera - a Canon Ixus 950IS. I love it, don't think I'm ready to try a DSLR camera, but I like playing with the settings on this as a trial run.

Next is my Motorola V3 phone, can be used if I forget my camera. It's a couple of years old, but the photos turn out surprisingly well, I've even used them on LOs before.

Last but certainly not least, my beloved Mac iBook. I love it, would never go back to just having a PC. It looks so cute and works so well (especially after this weekend when I'm having its RAM increased to cope with PSE better!).

I converted the photo to b&w using Photoshop and the urban/snapshot setting as the screen was too blue in the original.

Tawny did turn up to help me with the photo, this may be as much as you all get to see of her, she doesn't stay still long enough for photos.

Lastly, after a request from Pam, here's a close up of Amy's arm from yesterday so you can see the bangles more clearly.

Armbands

Here's Amy wearing just about every bangle I own. She insisted they were armbands and wanted to go swimming. I eventually worked out she meant she wanted to play in a paddling pool.

Only two problems with that, 1 - the weather is freezing, and 2 - we don't own a paddling pool!

Ball pool!

Yesterday we went to a soft play centre. Although I'm now 31, I still can't resist a ball pool, and it's great now I have Amy as an excuse to go lol.

It was fantastic, we got there 10 minutes after it opened, and had the place to ourselves for half an hour. Amy was still a bit scared to come down the huge slide on her own, but didn't mind coming down on my knee.

Willow

Today's photo is the first of probably many of Willow. She's our 12 year old cat, who spends most of the day sleeping. I tried in vain to take some good photos of our other cat, Tawny, who's a tortoiseshell, but she moves too fast.

Here Willow is displaying the typical cat expression of 'Wot u looking at?', but in a nice way of course.

Bubbles!

Today we spent some time playing outside after Amy found her bubble blower. We could only play for a short bit at a time before it got too cold and we had to come back inside. Luckily we were also making some cakes, so that worked pretty well.

I must have taken dozens of photos of the bubbles, and narrowed it down to this few.

For this one I played in Photoshop with increasing the saturation, I like the effect.

Physics Stairwell

I love the back stairs at the Physics building at Glasgow Uni, all wood panelling and bannisters. It's just a pity the bottom of the stairwell is filled with junk from when they emptied out one of the workshops.

We went up today to spend some time in the West End, and so Peter could take things up to his office. Amy loves the stairwell too, as it has a great echo, though the one at the other end of the building is even better.

Today we spent some time making these little marshmallow top hats. Amy loves them, and I love how easy they are to make. Luckily she and her dad went out for a walk so I was able to take a photo before they were all scoffed!

Rockcliffe

My photo for today was taken on the beach at Rockcliffe, on the Solway Firth. The weather was glorious, and I liked this view of a tiny island between the rocks.

I took several more photos at the beach. I love this one, and the one below shows Amy playing at the water's edge with Val and Jeanette.

I love the start of the year when the new calendar is put up, all those blank pages ready to be filled with visits/ friends meet-ups/ dentist appointments etc. Here's my new Dodopad, my mum buys me one each year. It's got enough space for a column each for me, Peter and Amy with a couple left over. I also like the jokes/stories/general nonsense spread through the pages.

Of course, in my case the calendar tends to get filled up sporadically. I remember one week in 5, then try to remember what I've done over the previous fortnight lol.

Hiya, I've decided to do project 365 and take a photo every day of 2009. The easiest way I could think of keeping up with a project of this size is to upload the photo each day to this blog, much as I was doing to my main blog for December. My plan then is to create a double layout every week, possibly digitally as I've got a couple of templates for that.
